This is a new blog.

Okay. Obvious.

Welcome! I'm a little scared about writing so publicly. All my forms of social media have been privacy-handled... This is a first. I'm trying to be heard, for once, by the public, whomever happens to stumble across this blog.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Jan. It's quite short. And boring. It's never accepted as usernames, nor is it particularly recognisable. Sooo the obvious solution was to re-name myself online... Now I'm Jaaananannn. Look carefully - it's not a random assortment on 'a's and 'n's. Got it?

Although it's my first time blogging, it's not my first time on Blogger. I've a private blog, titled Thoughts, on which I write diary-esque posts and rant. A lot. But I started writing un-rant-y things, and I wanted to share it with the world. That's pretty much why I created this new blog: for y'all to see my un-rant-y thoughts.

Thoughts also consists of many, many, many, many, many Polyvore sets. I kinda... Really like fashion. And drawing. Painting. All mediums. I've practised with plenty. If it weren't for my guilt that's lead me to aim for a future in Science, I would most. definitely. be. doing. Fine Arts. Fashion. Performance Arts. Living the Life. When I say guilt, I mean that somewhere along my education, I've been guided to believe that my career ought to give back to humanity, push the frontier of research, and optimise life on Earth. That's why I'm in a Science mindset right now. Don't get me wrong - my passion for Biology is on a par with my passion for All Things Art. Just... Career-wise, I can truly see myself doing Some Sort Of Art. Science... I'm... I will try.
